Marie's bearded Iris

When I was growing up people would pull off the road just to admire my Mother's Iris beds. She has all colors, hundreds all in rows, very pretty. When I was visiting her 2 summers ago she gave me some bulbs, last year they were OK, but this year I think they are going to be just as beautiful as the ones I remember growing up, only on a much smaller scale. I believe she only planted the common bearded Iris, I think it is because she could plant so many colors. http://www.gardenguides.com/plants/info/flowers/perennials/beardediris.asp, I like to refer to this website, especially for perennials.
Here is the 1st ones that have bloomed, I will post more as they all bloom. Thanks Mom for having these flowers be a part of my life...

Whistle Stop Farms

Yesterday I went to Whistle Stop Farms to pick up rhubarb starts, after some conversation with the owner, we got to talking about how our ornamental grasses we planted last year survived the winter? It didn't, hers did not either, so she offered me 3 knew types of grass she was trying this year. I came home with my rhubarb and the new grasses she gave me. Now that is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not only did she go out of her way to make sure we were satisfied she remember helping my Husband research what would be the best to plant in our area from a year ago, wow..

The name of the ornamental grass is: Karl Forester Feather Reed Grass

Lisa on a cold night

Here is to Good Times!

************************************************************************************

This past weekend camping my friend, Lisa brought her Nintendo DS. Well needless to say I was hooked, so much she let me take the DS home with me for 2 weeks to see if I really like it. Lisa only sent one game, Brain Age well I take that back there might be one in the case but I am obsessed with Brain Age. Everyday I can't wait to play today's "daily training". I am amazed how you feel after playing my mind doesn't seem so "spongy" I have been around many different game systems I think the kids have had them all one time or another, but this one has really caught my attention. I also am interested about the YOGA for the wii but I know the next time Andrew visits he will be taking his wii game system so no wii YOGA for me, yet anyways.

Tulips are my favorite flowers!

early morning, after eating all 3 clumps of red tulips right at my front door. approx. 150 bulbs.

Tulips before the deers breakfast, total of 3 bunch's beautiful one minute gone the next. Photo taken the night before.

Terra Cota Bunnies try to watch over flowers but the deer win!

Trying to get along with deer on a daily basis is tiring. I know they will be back for more. I couldn't take the after photo's of the tulips, I was so in shock that they were gone. Are there really any flowers out there that deer don't like to eat?

1st Camping Trip of the Season

Camping what a wonderful way to put life into the correct perspective. My Husband and I are tent campers, I have been with my Husband Glenn for over 8 years, when we camp we camp in the mountains or the desert but not a camp ground. Oh I take that back the one and probably only time we camped in a camp ground was Park City, Utah, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw 4 small shadows outside the tent. I woke Glenn up and when he checked out what was outside there was a pack of Skunks, 5 total. The next few minutes were very intense, even though they did not bother us, I think that proved my Husbands thoughts on why we camp in the wilderness instead of camp grounds. Back to our 1st camping of the season, we went with very good friends, who I consider family. We all had fun and the weather was actually very good, the weather report told us otherwise. The Ochoco National Forest is wonderful, take a look.
